Whatever I say about ketchup would be less in comparison to the love people have for it.Ketchup is a universally loved condiment. People have it with just about anything and everything from pizzas to pasta to burger to Indian grub and how can we forget french fries- much loved deep fried potato snack. French fries and ketchup for most people is like a match made in heaven, though I prefer mine without any of the tomatoey goodness.
The ketchup we get off the shelf is full of sugar and preservatives. Once my mom dumped a batch of home grown organic tomatoes on me and asked me to make judicious use of it. But of course it was painstakingly and loving grown by my dear mom and I could not let it go waste, so i thought of a few recipes I could go ahead with, the ones which popped up were- tomato achar , tomato puree or tomato ketchup. It was a no brainer what I was going to go ahead - home made ketchup which my family could enjoy without much guilt as it would be low on sugar and without any preservatives. It is perfect for your kids too. I searched and tried a few recipe and then combined a few and got a perfect one, You cannot go wrong with this one. As always its easy peasy to make, but make sure to store it in the refrigerator as it has no preservatives. Happy ketchuping!!
